Access Fund and Protect Mount Washington

The Access Fund recently posted about the Protect Mount Washington campaign on their website:

"Alpine habitats are limited in the Northeast region, and construction of a hotel in this fragile alpine zone of Mount Washington would have significant environmental impact. Furthermore, it would degrade the visitor experience, as the hotel would be visible from numerous points in the iconic Presidential Range."

Many of the organizers behind the campaign are climbers and welcome the support of this national non-profit organization:

"The Access Fund is the national advocacy organization that keeps U.S. climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment. Founded in 1990, the Access Fund supports and represents over 2.3 million climbers nationwide in all forms of climbing: rock, ice, mountaineering, and bouldering."
